Costa Rica Cars Sales in First Half of 2016 improved in double digit. Toyota led again the market, Nissan showed a robust performance and Ford grew over 50% gaining the fifth place.
Costa Rica’s economy likely expanded at another robust rate in Q2, due to the high growth rates of economic activity recorded in all three months of the quarter. The likely expansion in the whole quarter was mainly driven by strong improvements in the financial sector, although the agricultural sector picked up and grew at the fastest rate in a year in May.
The Costa Rica’s vehicles market in the first half of the year was positive with the total vehicles passenger at 30.597 units, up 16.8% compared to the first semester of the 2015.
Toyota was again the best manufacturers with 4.290 sales (+5.8%) and 14.0% of market share, followed by Nissan with 2.758 (+29.8%) and the Koreans Hyundai with 2.749 (+21.1%).
Kia was fourth with 2.654 (+19.5%) ahead of Ford with 2.160 (+50.2%).
