2014 Czech Republic Vehicle Market hits all-time record beating the previous record by over 18.000 units with the best performance in Europe. A great news for the Volkswagen Group, absolute dominator of the market.
In December 2014 according to data released by S.D.A., the Czech Republic Car Importers Association, the total new Car Passengers sold in Czech Republic have been 16.688, up 14.8% compared with the correspondent month last year.
This was the 14th consecutive year on year increase and the last brick of a triumphal year for the market.
Indeed, we already reported the achievement of the new all-time record figures with one month in advance and adding the December sales we can just fix the step.
Full Year 2014 sales were 192.314, a new record with 16.7% increase from 2013 and 18.000 units more than the previous record, hit in the 2012.
In December Skoda sold 4.531 cars (+7.9%) ending the year with 58.091 units, +16.2% and with a market share at 30.2%, just 0.1 point below the previous year.
In second place Volkswagen sold 1.674 units (+31.7%) with Full Year at 18.281 (+22.3%).
Third was Hyundai with 1.671 sales (-7.5%) followed by Peugeot, Ford and Kia.
As far as the Car Groups performance and ranking, Volkswagen Group led with 40.0% of market share, ahead of Hyundai-Kia with 16.0% and Renault-Nissan with 11.0%.
As far as Best-selling models performance and ranking, the podium was dominated by Skoda, the Octavia was again on top with 1.615 sales (+3.3%) ahead of Rapid with 947 (+36.1%) and Fabia with 622 (-11.0%).
