Danish car market flat in June. Dacia & Mitsubishi +800% from last year.

Danish car market slowed in June up only 0.1% posting anyhow the sixth year-on-year increase this year. Volkswagen continued to dominate reaching quota 12.000 cars sold in first half 2014.

In June 2014 accordingly with data released by the Danish Car Importers AssociationDe Danske Bilimportører (DBI) , total new Passengers Cars sold have been 17.575, up 0.1% from year ago. First Half sales have been 98.799, up 7.4% from year ago.  

Volkswagen  was always first retailing 1.982 cars in June with share at 11.3%, down 1.9 points from May. Year to date sales were 12.000 with share at 12.2%, down 1.1 points from 2013. The Up! was leader again with 834 units and 5.747 cumulate figures while the Golf ranked 6th with 442 units last month.

Ford jumped in 2nd (three places ahead from May) selling 1.628 units with 9.3% of share, up an impressive 3%s from the previous month. First Half sales were 7.986 with share at 8.1%, down 0.3 points from year ago. Ford Ka boomed in June gaining 2nd place with 589 units more than doubling the previous perfomance. Fiesta was seventh with 438 retails.

Renault sold 1.435 units with share at 8.2%, up 1.5 points from the previous month. Cumulate sales were 6.145 with share at 6.2%, down 0.3 points from last year.  The Clio was third with 585 units while Capture and Scenic were respectively 15th and 27th.

Toyota soared at 6.8% of share and was fourth in June with 1.185 units and 6.993 cumulate sales. First half share was 10.5%, up 2.7% from 2013. Yaris was 10th with 362 units.

Peugeot was fifth with 1.160 sales in June at 6.6% of share. Looking at cumulate performance, the french manufacturer ranked 2nd with 10.312 cars and 10.5% of market share, up 2.7% from 2013. The 208 was again the best selling car of Peugeot ranking 4th with 548 units while it was second in the first six months with 3.386 cumulate sales.

Skoda was sixth with 1.126 sales and 6.4% of share down two points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 6.966, with 7.1% of share, down 0.4 points from last year. The Octavia lost five places and was 8thwhile Citigo was 9th with 422 and 371 units each.
