Dutch Vehicle Market has lost 5% in June. Peugeot in first place.

Dutch Vehicle Market

Dutch Vehicle Market lost 5.3%. in June 2014. Peugeot boomed and ranked in first place with the new 308 sales tripled from the previous month with 1.759 units sold in June. Good news from Opel climbed second with 3000 pieces.

In June 2014 accordingly with data released by Reivereninging, the Dutch Association of Car Manufacturers, total new Car Passengers sold have been 32.950, down 6.6% from year ago. First Half sales were 200.244, down 5.3% from year ago.  

Peugeot was the new market leader last month with 3.133 sales and an impressive 9.5% of share, up 2.7 points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 15.130 with 7.6% of share, up 0.4 points from last year. This incredible performance was driven by positive results of new Peugeot 308 (1st this month) which tripled sales in June reaching quota 1.759 units and 5.3% up 3.4 points from May. The 308 was voted european car of the year 2014.

Opel was second selling 3.000 units with 9.1% of share, up 2.4 points from the previous month. Year to date figures were 12.687 retails and 6.3% of share, up 0.7 points from year ago. Big jump ahead for the Corsa getting 12 places (from 17th to 5th)with 920 sales or 2.8%.

Volkswagen sold 2.742 cars with 8.3% of share: Negative performance for the german manufacturer that was down 2.2 points from May but preserved the 1st place year to date. In the first half 2014, sales have been 21.089 with share at 10.5%, down 1.4 points from year ago. The Golf ranked third also in June with 1.117 sales while it was stable the best selling model year to date with 8.721. The Up! came back in 9th.

Renault has lost two places and ranked fourth selling 2.738 (just 4 car less than VW) cars with share at 8.3%, down 1 points from the previous month with cumulate sales at 16.408 and share at 8.2%, down 0.7 points from 2013 The Clio was 2th with 1.330 sales while Captur 7th with 802.

Ford was fifth with 1.659 retails and 5.9% of share, down 0.9 points. First six month sales were 11.911 with share at 5.9%, down 1.7 points from year ago. Ford Fiesta fell down in 14th with only 593 units, the worst performance of the year.

Citroen overpassed Skoda and was sixth in June with 1.620 retails and 4.9% of share, up 0.7 points from the previous month with cumulate sales at9.353 and share at 4.7%, almost flat from last year. The best model was the C3 with 511 in 17th place.

Looking at the Premium brands, Audi was 8th with 1.608 units while BMW and Mercedes were respectively in 10th and 14th with 1.521 and 1.161 vehicles each.
