Europe: Car Sales Statistics. Renault shines among best 30 selling Brands.

Thanks to its database and the network of its local correspondents, focus2move.com is now able to release sales data for the entire Europe, from Portugal to Ukraine. The countries included are not only those inside the European Community – as released by ACEA association – but also others, such as Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Belarus, Russia, Turkey, and Ukraine. Moreover, data includes cars and light commercial vehicles in order to give a better view of the True European light passenger markets and allow a pear with pear comparison with the rest of the World.

November 2013 was the third year on year growing month in a row for the whole European light passenger vehicles market with a total of 1.425.128 vehicles sold, up 0.3% from last year. Year to date figures was 16.184.000, down 2.9% from last year. To see detail by market, see our Report.

The strong performance posted in the last months, allowed Renault to outpace Ford as second best brand and create a gap of over 15.000 units that should not be full filled in December with the conquest of the “silver plate” for the French carmaker.

The ranking is dominated by Volkswagen that has further improved share at 11.8%, up 0.4 points from October. Volkswagen is market leader in over 15 countries across Europe!

Renault and Ford, fighting for the second place, have lost share from October at 7.5% and 7.0% respectively while behind Opel recovered 0.3 points, with 77.961 retails at 5.5%, outpacing Peugeot in 4th place.

Peugeot was 5th with 73.432 sales with share slipped at 5.2%, down 0.3 points, keeping the distance from the group of followers, 7 brands with volume between 61.000 and 55.600 and share between 4.3% and 3.9%.

In this group there were Mercedes, Citroen, Audi, Toyota, Fiat, BMW and Skoda.

As reported by the press GM Group announced the decision to quite Chevrolet brand distribution from Europe starting from 2017. Chevrolet actually ranks in 18th place and sell in the entire Europe the half than in Brazil. However, the white flag rose by the American Group surprise and follow the opposite of what should be the track for any global brand.
