European Car Brands ranking in June 2014 reports the amazing performance of Renault, jumped at 9.1% of market share thanks to strong demand on all new models, with Volkswagen and Ford struggling under the French offensive.

The list of Car Brands Ranking in Europe is sourced by focus2move.com Mobility Database, which aggregates data from all National Carmaker Associations or Dealers Associations, including for the European Community, ACEA. Data combined the 28 countries of European Community plus the 3 of EFTA (Norway, Iceland and Switzerland) plus East and South European countries such as Russia, Turkey, Ukraine, Bosnia, Serbia, Macedonia, Moldova, Belarus, Moldova, Armenia, Georgia, and Albania. We also include little countries like Monaco and Liechtenstein, despite for these countries data are preliminary and subject at a late update.

In June 2014, accordingly with data released by all local association of importers and by ACEA (Association of European Community Automotive Manufacturers), total Light Passengers Vehicle sold in Europe (44 countries) have been 1.645.000, down 0.1% from the correspondent month last year. In the first half of the year sales have been 9.255.000, up 2.4%.

The great fact of June was the astonishing Renault performance in second place, with sales hick 12.0% from the correspondent month last year and market share taken off at 9.1%. As reported in the models analysis, old top models are cool actually and also the Twingo entered in the podium of the city car segment.

The other two leaders look in difficulties under the Renault attack and both have lost volume year on year.

Volkswagen in first place has delivered  177.653 units with 10.8% of market share, down 1.0 points  and losing 5.6% of June 2013 volumes.

Ford in third position sold 118.685 vehicles, losing 4.2% of sales with the next competitor, Opel, able to reduce the gap at 12.000 units.

Behind Peugeot  with 92.509 sales, Fiat with 78.181and Citroen with 77.394 Mercedes  kept leadership among premium brands with 76.339 sales with a wide gap over BMW (69.464) and Audi (68.799).

Nissan posted a strong month with 60.001 sales (up 11.4%) but was still behind Toyota (66.046, up 0.7%). Both Hyundai (60.280, down 7.7%) and Kia (50.579, down 0.3%) have lost volumes.

Penalized by Ukraine crisis, all Chinese makers have significantly lost volumes.
