Finland: Toyota boomed keeping leadership in a growing October 2013 market.

Accordingly with data released by Autotuojlat, Finnish Information Centre of Automobile Sector, in October 2013 the new cars sold in Finland had been 8.985, up 9.8% from last year. This was the 7th year on year increase in a streak. However, cumulated sales were still down compared with last year as year to date sales were 89.805, down 7.5%.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Toyota posted a phenomenal month selling 1.362 cars with a share boomed at 15.2%, up 4.5 points from September, one of the best ever! Thanks to this performance, Toyota has overtaken the rival Volkswagen in the cumulated sales ranking and is now in pole position to win the yearly race. Auris, Avensis and Yaris were protagonist of this month, all in top sixth model ranking.

Volkswagen performed in line with September but below the rest of the year and had lost market leadership. Sales were 1.046 with share flat at 11.6. Year-to-date sales were 10.883, 83 units below Toyota. Top model Golf was second best-selling model.

Skoda in 3rd sold 842 units with a share of 9.4%, down 0.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 7.026 with a share of 7.9%, up 0.1 points from 2012. The Octavia confirmed its monthly leadership further reducing the gap from Golf in the cumulated ranking

Volvo in 4th sold 702 vehicles with a share of 7.8%, down 0.4 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.966 with a share of 6.7%, down 0.1 points from last year. The top model was the V40 fell in 8th place.

Ford advanced in 5th with 670 sales and 7.5% of share, up 1.1 points from September. Year to date sales were 6.782 with 7.6% of share, down 0.1 points from 2012.

Skoda Octavia was the market leader again with 611 sales and a share of 6.9%, up 1.1 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 3.900 with a share of 4.3%.

Volkswagen Golf was 2nd, up 1 spot, with 521 units and a share of 5.9%, up 1.7 points from the previous month. Year to date Golf was N°1 with 4.217 sales and 4.7% of share.

Toyota Auris was third with 482 sales and a share of 5.4%, up 1.1 points from the previous month. Year to date Auris was fourth with 3.807 sales and 3.3% of share.

Nissan Qashqai was 4th with 431 units and a share of 4.8%, up 0.4 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Avensis and Yaris respectively 5th and 6th with 324 and 247 sales.

Ford Fiesta soared in 7th from 16th with 223 units, followed by Volvo V40 in 8th with 193, Ford Focus in 9th with 183 and Kia Cee’d in 10th with 181
