France car market rose 2.7% in first half 2014. June was hot for LCVs sales that took quota 37.000 units this month scoring the best performance this year.

In June 2014 accordingly with data released by CCFA, the French Associations of Car Manufacturers, total new Car Passengers sold have been 196.257, up 2.6% from year ago. Year to date June sales have been 958.776, up 2.9% from year ago.  

Light Commercial Vehicles sold in June have been 37.030, up 6.7% from year ago. Year to date sales were 189.994, up 1.6%.

In June Renault recovered the leadership and leads the market with  48.655 vehicles and 24.8% of share, up 4.9 points from May. Year to date sales were 195.305 with share at 20.4% up 1.9 points from last year. Renault Captur boomed in sales and it’s now 2th with 9.566 units and 3.5% after the absolute leader Clio with 14.982 up 0.3 points from last month.

Peugeot  in second place retailed 31.432 cars with  share at 16%, down 2 points from the previous month with cumulate sales at 162.676 and share at 17.0%, up 0.8 points from last year. Peugeot 208 and Peugeot 308 were 3rd and 5th with 7.969 and 6.710 sales.

Citroen was third selling 24.922 units with 12.7% of share, down 0.9 points from last month. Cumulate figures were 126.070 with 13.1% of share.C3 and C4 Picasso lost around four places and  ranked respectively 7th and 11th.

Volkswagen  was fourth with 13.049 sales and 6.6% of share, down 1.4 points from the previous month. First Half sales were 73.123 with 7.6% of share, almost flat from last year. Polo overpassed Golf in June with 3.732 units versus 3.714 of the compact car that ranked 15th.

Dacia scored a strong performance in June and it was 5th with 11.381 retails, up around 4k units from May, and share at 5.8%.

Ford  in fifth sold 8.576 with 5.2% of share, up 0.4 points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 33.602 with 4.4% of share, down 0.1 points from the previous month. The best model was the Fiesta in 16th place. Sandero was 8th with 5.217 units while Duster lost two places landing in 13th.

French demand for premium brands picked u for BMW and Mercedes recording gains of 0.1 and 0.3 points respectively after declines in previous months while Audi lost 1 points from May.
