France Cars Market in March 2016

France Cars Market in March 2016 kept the path fueled by both private and fleet consumer’s demand. Renault improved sales in double-digit while PSA’s brands had been slow. Opel shining up 18%.

Market Outlook

According to data released by the C.C.F.A, the French Associations of Car Manufacturers, after the best increase in the last 6 years scored in the previous month, in March the market kept growing with 211.254 units sold (+7.5%), at the 9th Y.o.Y. increase in a string. In first quarter 2016 the sales had been 516.382, +8.2% up compared to the same period last year.

In March Renault confirmed the leadership with 46.585 sales (+10.7%) and 22.1% of market share, followed by Peugeot with 34.835 (+2.9%) and Citroen with 19.840 (+3.2%). Volkswagen followed with 14.060 (+3.9%) ahead of Dacia in fifth with 11.110 units (+19.6%), Ford with 9.517 (-0.1%), Nissan with 8.556 (+6.7%) and Opel with 7.905 (+18.7%).

As far as rank by Manufacturer, Renault-Nissan ended the first quarter on top of the list with 29.4% of market share followed by PSA with 28.8% and Volkswagen with 12.5%.

The model ranking was reported again with the Renault Clio on top with 13.074 sales (-1.0%) ahead to the Peugeot 208 with 10.669 (+12.9%), the Renault Captur  with 8.278 (-2.9%), the Peugeot 308 with 8.016 (+4.4%), the Peugeot 2008 with 7.308( +11.7%) and the Citroen C3 with 6.337 (+8.9%).
