French Car Market

French Car Market rose 5% in April 2014. Renault and Peugeot lead the market increasing market share while Dacia kept growing and in fifth place improved cumulate market share by 1.5 points from last year. See Top Brands & Models data & ranking.

In April 2014 accordingly with data released C.C.F.A., the Comitè de Costructeurs Francais d’Automobiles, new passengers cars sold have been 166.959, up 5.8% from year ago. Year to date April sales have been 613.568, up 3.7% from year ago.

Light Commercial Vehicles sold in April have been 33.451, up 3.3% from year ago while Year to Date sales have been 124.037, down 0.1%.

Renault sold 31.575 cars with share at 18.9%, down 1.8 points from March. Year to date sales were 120.613 with share at 19.7%, up 0.8 points from last year. Renault kept four models in top 10 with Clio market leader

Peugeot sold 28.239 units with share at 16.9%, up 0.1 points from the previous month with cumulate sales at 104.433 and share at 17.0%, up 0.8 points from last year. Peugeot posted three models in top sixth with 208 in second, 308 in fourth and 2008 in sixth.

Citroen in third sold 21.866 cars with 13.1% of share, up 0.8 points. Year to date April sales were 80.853 with share at 13.2%, down 0.1 points from 2013. C3 advanced in third from the seventh of March with 3.7% of share.

Volkswagen sold 13.663 units with 8.2% of share, up 0.5 points and with cumulate figures at 48.170 or 7.9% of share, flat from last year.

Dacia in fifth kept advancing with 11.286 sales and 6.8% of share, up 1.1 points from March. Year to date sales were 39.635 with share at 6.5%, up 1.5 points from last year.
