Greece: Opel shines in a September car market in a double digit growth.

Accordingly with data released by Greek Association of Motor Vehicle Importers Representatives, in September cars sold in Greece had been 3.814, up 10.1 %. Year to date sales were 44.422, down only 2.4%. Now the full year 2013 is projected in line with last year, breaking a series of sixth consecutive declining years.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Opel advanced in first place, finally achieving a performance in line with 2012, following a hard first part of 2013. September sales were 456, with share soared at 12.0%, up 2.7 points from the previous month. Year-to-date Opel was third with 4.264 units and 9.7% of share, losing 2.4 points from full year 2012. Corsa was market leader while Astra was back in top ten.

Volkswagen was 2nd with 402 sales and a share of 10.5%, up 0.5 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date Volkswagen was second with 4.595 sales and 10.4% of share, up only 0.1 points from last year. In the top models ranking, Polo was third and Golf fourth.

Toyota fell in 3rd, don two spots, selling 345 cars with a share dropped at 9.0%, down 3.7 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date Toyota was leader with 4.753 sales and a share of 10.8%, up 1.0 points from last year. Toyota Yaris, market leader year to date, was third in September.

Ford advanced in 4th place with 243 units and 6.4% of share, up 0.5 points. Year to date Ford was 9th with 1.926 units and 4.4% of share, down 0.7 points from FY 2012.

Skoda rose in 5th place with 232 sales and 6.1% of share, up 0.3 points. Year to date it was 7th with 2.632 units and 6.0% of share.

Opel Corsa was market leader with 306 units and a share of 8.0%, up 0.8 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Yaris 2nd this month and leader YTD, with 161 sales and a share of 4.2%, down 4.4 points from the previous month.

Volkswagen Polo was third with 146 sales and a share of 3.8%, down 0.2 points from the previous month, followed by Volkswagen Golf in 4th with 129 units and a share of 3.4%, down 1.0 points from the previous month.

Ford Fiesta advanced in 5th, up 2 spots, with 120 sales and a share of 3.1%, down 0.5 points from the previous month, and by Citroen C3 in 6th with 109 sales and a share of 2.9%, down 1.2 points.

Audi A4 surged in 8th with 102 units, ahead of Opel Astra, 9th from 24th and Toyota Auris in 10th.
