Hungary: Car Market Statistics. Best-selling Brands and Models ranking.

Accordingly with data released by the Association of the Hungarian Automotive Industry, in November 2013 the total car passenger’s sold in the country were 4.942, up 6.3%. This was the 9th year on year increase in a string and allowed the market recovery after a weak first quarter performance. Indeed, year to date sales were 51.092, up 6.4% from last year.

Looking at top brands performance:

Ford run towards the end of the year in good shape, selling 579 vehicles and achieving 11.7% of share, up 2.3 points from October. Year-to-date Ford confirmed the leadership with 6.169 sales and 12.1% of share, up 2.3 points from last year. The market leader, Focus, posted a spectacular sales volume in November.

Opel was second selling 543 cars partially recovering share from a not positive October. Actual share was 11.0%, up 1.4 points. Year-to-date Opel was second with 5.765 sales with a share of 11.3%, down 2.2 points from 2012 when it was market leader.

Skoda was third with 498 units and 10.1% of share, up 0.9 points from October. Year to date sales were 5.511 with a share of 10.8%, up 0.7 points from last year.

Volkswagen was back in fourth selling 361 vehicles with a share of 7.3%, down 1.9 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date Volkswagen was fourth with 5.362 sales and 10.5% of share, up 1.9 points from 2012.

Renault was fifth with 294 sales and 5.9% of share, flat from October. Year to date sales were 3.039 with a share of 5.9%, down 0.6 points from last year.
