Indian cars sales in October 2016

Indian cars sales shy in October. The launch of several new models is transforming the competitive scenario boosting sales of emerging brands such as Renault, Ford and Volkswagen.

Market Outlook

India’s economy is showing signs of gaining momentum halfway through FY 2016. In addition, the current account came close to balancing in Q2 FY 2016 due to a lower oil bill and subdued gold imports—highlighting the country’s reduced vulnerability to external risks.

Reducing stress in banks’ balance sheets is vital to boosting credit growth and supporting fixed investment, which plunged in Q1 FY 2016 and dragged down GDP growth.

The domestic new ca passenger’s October sales have been moderately positive keeping the positive trend started over one year and half ago.

According to data released by the SIAM, the Society of Indian Automotive Manufacturers, in the last month the car passenger’s sales in India had been 280.960, up 4.7%.

Year to date sales have been 2.589.056, up 12.2% from the last year.
