Israel: Renault voted Brand of the Year in a transforming car market.

According with data released by the Israeli Department of Transportation System, in December 2013 the market posted a double digit decrease from year ago reducing the gaining accumulated during the year. December sales have been 11.586, down 10.7% while full year sales at 212.141 were up 3.5% from last year.

Sharing general evaluation on Brands & Models performance, based not only on volume but also on results compared with potential, focus2move Team quoted the Best of the Year 2013, as Brand and Model. This was the result:

Brand of Year was Renault ranked in 9th with 4.7% of share, up 1.4 points from 2012. Second was Toyota ranked in 2nd with share at 10.7%, up 0.9 points from 2012. Third was Skoda in 4th, with share at 6.2%, up 0.7 points from 2012.

Model of Year was the new Kia Picanto market leader with 4.5% of share, up 1.5 points from 2012. Second was Hyundai i30 in 4th with 3.8% of share, up 1.6 points from last year. Third was the new Skoda Rapid, landed in 22nd with 1.2% of share.

Looking at top brands performance:

Toyota impressed for huge sales volume in the last month of the year, with 2.460 retails and share almost doubled from the already strong November, at 21.2%. However, in the final 2013 ranking Toyota was second with 22.788 sales and 10.7% of share, up 0.9 points from 2012 and 2.0 points from 2011. The best-selling model was Corolla, market leader in the fourth quarter, while second in the year. Behind, Yaris ranked 11th.

Kia was second in December with 1.310 cars and share at 11.3%, up 2.7 points of share from the previous month. Full Year Kia ranked third with 20.975 sales and 9.9% of share, up 0.5 points from last year and 3.0 points from 2011. In the year, Picanto was market leader followed by Rio in 10th.

Skoda advanced in third, up 2 spots, with 1.044 sales and a share of 9.0%, up 1.7 points from the previous month. Full Year Skoda was 4h with 13.153 sales and 6.2% of share, up 0.7 points from 2012. The top model was Octavia in 14th, with Rapid in 22nd and Fabia in 31st.

Suzuki in 4th sold 879 units with a share of 7.6%, down 0.1 points from November. Full Year Suzuki was 6th with 10.988 sales and 5.2% of share, up 0.5 points from last year. Best-selling model was the SX4 in 13th place.

Hyundai fell in 5th in December, probably with Management already satisfied by the performance. Sales were only 827 with share dropped at 7.1%, down 6.2 points from November. However in the full year Hyundai was market with a wide gap over the second, having retailed 32.089 vehicles with a share of 15.1%, down 0.3 points from 2012. Best-selling model was the i30 in 4th, followed by i35 and i20 in 5th and 6th place.
