Kuwait 2013. Car Market hit again the all-time sales record

Accordingly with data collected by focus2move through manufacturers, local operators and press, in 2013 the light passenger vehicles market was really strong, with sales fled at 180k units a new all-time record

The growth was the third in a row, with over 40k sales more than in the previous year. The 30% increase reported by the market was one of the best performance in absolute worldwide. At the end of the year Kuwait was the World’s 41st market.

Car demand is kept up by growing GDP, strong investments in non-oil sectors and growing population for high workers immigration. Recently, income distribution has been progressively more equalized and the growth of a new middle class will further generate growing demand for consumer’s goods like vehicles.

As in all Gulf area, the Lion of the desert is Toyota, despite in this country its market share is lower than in others. Last year Toyota recorded over 56k sales with share at 31.3%, up 1 points from the previous year. Behind, Nissan was second again gaining 1.3 points of share at 13.1% followed by Hyundai, Chevrolet and Kia.

Toyota Prado and Hilux were stable as best-selling  models while Nissan D22 advanced in third place ahead of other three Toyota models, Corolla, Camry and Land Cruiser.
