Latin America Best-Selling Cars Ranking in 2024 saw the Volkswagen Polo becoming market leader (+45%), followed by the Fiat Strada (+16.4%). The Chevrolet Onix lost its spot at the top of the podium and ranked in 3rd (-9.1%).
The Latin American best-selling cars ranking, despite reporting data from 41 countries, is heavily conditioned by the trend in the top markets (Brazil, Mexico, and Argentina), which count for nearly half of the regional sales.
The Volkswagen Polo -up 3 spots- considering cumulative data up to September 2024, became the new market leader with 3.2% market share and 116,133 new sales (+45%). The Fiat Strada gained 1 spot and ranked 2nd with 107,974 units sold (+16.4%), in front of the Chevrolet Onix -down 2 spots- which reported 93,000 new vehicle registrations (-9.1%).
In 4th ranked the Toyota Hilux -down 2 spots- with 91,830 sales (-8.4%), followed by the Nissan Versa -up 3 spots- with 80,475 units sold (+21.8%) and the Hyundai HB20 -up 1 spot- with 70,780 new registrations (-2.8%).
The Nissan Kicks -up 4 spots- ranked in 7th with 69,537 sales (+15.3%) ahead of the Chevrolet Tracker -down 3 spots- with 66,924 units sold (-10.4%) and the Fiat Argo -up 8 spots- with 66,518 units sold (+25%).
Closing the Top 10, the Hyundai Creta reported 64,497 sales, with a gain of 1.1% from the previous year.
