Malaysia Car Sales rose 5% in November projecting a positive end of the year. Huge surprise was generated by the weak performance of Proton, fell 28%, which has lost the second place in favor of Toyota, first time ever.

In November 2014 according to data released by M.A.A., the Malaysian Automotive Associationthe new Light Passengers Vehicles sold in Malaysia have been 55.308, up 5.8% compared with the correspondent month last year.

Year to date sales have been 599.780, up 0.9% from the correspondent period last year.

Almost all carmakers scored a positive month with the significant exception of the local maker Proton, which fell down 28.7% Y.o.Y. losing the second place in favor of Toyota.

Perodua on top of the list sold 18.531 vehicles improving 13.1% from last year and gaining a market share of 33.5%.

Advancing in second place, Toyota sold 8.394 units, up 12.7% from last year outpacing Proton that was third with 8.203 units.

In fourth place Honda was protagonist of a spectacular 70.2% increase surging at 6.280 sales and 11.4% of share.

Other positive performances were reported by Mercedes (11th with 724 sales, +59.1%) and Subaru (18th with 144 sales, +63.6%).

Looking at the report on Car Groups, the leader was Perodua with 33.5% of market share, ahead of Toyota with 16.6% and Proton with 14.8%.
