Malaysia Vehicle Sales rose 6% in May 2014 with Honda and Mazda posting record sales volume. The market kept the outstanding momentum and is running towards the new all-time sales record above 671.000 units.
In May 2014 accordingly with data released by M.A.A., the Malaysian Automotive Association, total new Light Passengers Vehiclessold have been 55,856, up 6,9% from year ago. Year to date May sales have been 273,322, up 0,2% from year ago.
Perodua on top of the list sold 16,104 vehicles with share at 28,8%, down 1,2 points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 77,666 with share at 28.4% down 1.5 points from last year.
Proton in second place sold 10,155 vehicles with 18,2% of share, up 1,0 points from the previous month with cumulative sales at 52,980 and share at 19,4%, down 1,8 points from last year.
Toyota was third selling 8,136 units with 14.6% of share, down 1,1 points from April. Year to date sales were 41,490 with share at 15,2%, up 1.3 points from year ago.
Honda advanced in fourth selling 7,365 vehicles with 13,2% of share, up 1,4 points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 29,908 with 10,9% of share, up 3,0 points from last year.
Nissan was fifth with 3,143 sales and 5,6% of share down 0,4 points from the previous month. Year to date sales were 18,594 with 6,8% of share, down 1,3 points from last year.
Mazda sold 1,292 units with share rose at 2,3%, up 0,2 points from April. In the first five months of the year sales have been 4,731 with share at 1,7% up 0,3 points from year ago.
