Morocco Vehicles Market in Q3 2016

Morocco Vehicles Market runs for the new all time record although the third quarter was reported more moderate after the strong first half.  Dacia and Renault are fast growing.

Market Outlook

The moderate Islamist PJD followed a relatively tight fiscal policy course over the last legislature, which helped to improve the Kingdom’s standing in the eyes of international institutions and corporations, and yet still failed to sustain healthy growth.

While the recent appointment of Prime Minister Abdelilah Benkirane for his second term ensures political stability in the short-term, the low voter turnout of 43% suggests widespread distrust of the young democratic system.

In this political environment, demand for new vehicles is growing and in the Q3 for the domestic vehicles market was a moderate period, after the sales acceleration of the first half. August reported the higher decline of registrations year to date, followed by a great recovery in double figure in September.

According to data released by the A.I.V.A.M. the Association of Vehicles Importers in Morocco, in July and August the sales had been 13.200 (+15.3%) and 7.800 (-16.2%) followed by 12.800 (+29.1%) in September.

Year to date September total sales had been 116.084, up 26.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
