Netherlands Cars Market in November 2016

Netherlands Cars Market in November hit the 5th y.o.y. fall in a row despite the high level of consumer confidence. Opel sparkled in double digit.

Market Outlook

The economic momentum looks likely to have carried over into the last quarter: in October, both the Manufacturing PMI and producer confidence grew and in November consumer confidence remained unchanged at the high level seen in October.

As far as the new cars sales, in November the market recorded the second best fall of the year, hitting the 5th y.o.y drop down in a string.

According to data released by the RAI vereninging, the Dutch Association of Car Manufacturers, in November the sales has been 32.242, down 20.4%.

Year to date November total car passenger’s sales had been 347.239, down 8.9%.

Competitive Arena

Year to date November, Volkswagen was on top of the list with 38.943 sales (-19.6%) with market share at 11.2% followed by Renault with 31.249 (+0.1%), Opel with 30.473 (+31.3%), Peugeot with 26.599 (-24.8%) and Ford with 20.024 (-12.5%).

In the best-selling model ranking the leader was the Volkswagen Golf with 9.601 sales (-34.9%), ahead to Renault Clio the  with 9.571 (-34.3%) and the Volkswagen Polo with 9.558 (-16.3%).
