New Caledonian Cars Market registered another moderate decline in 2019. Indeed, the Full-year ended with sales at 7.728, losing 5.8% from the previous year. Toyota reached 15.3% of share, while Dacia jumped in 2nd position, but just a very few units ahead of Peugeot, both holding 10.4%.
Market Trend
Vehicles market in recent year has lost steam declining from the 11.059 units sold in the 2012 at the 8.410 in the 2016. During the 2017 consumer demand was stable and the year ended with a little recovery, up 1.6% at 8.544 units. In 2018 the market registered a negative performance, with 8.206 sales, losing 4% from the previous year.
The 2019 kept the previous year’s negative trend. Indeed, the Full-year ended with sales at 7.728, declining 5.8% from the previous year.
Brand-wise, the year-to-date leadership was still in the hands of the Japanese Toyota, which gained more than 3 points of share from 2018, reaching 15.3% of market share. Dacia and Peugeot ended almost at the same registrations level, holding 10.4%.
