Norway: Car Market Statistics. The best-selling 25 Brands and Models ranking.

Accordingly with Opplysningsrådet for Veitrafikken AS, in November 2013 new car sold in Norway were 12.079, up 0.8%. Year-to-date sales were positive at 130.756, up 1.7% from last year.

In November, total electric vehicle sold in this country were 1.434, up 357% from November 2012, representing the 11.9% of total market. Hybrids vehicles were 849 or 7.7% up from last year.

CO2 emission in average was at 113 g/km, down 16g from year ago. This was the lowest CO2 level in Europe and – presumably – worldwide.

Looking at the top brands performance:

Volkswagen was back in first place with 1.735 sales and a share of14.4%, up 2.4 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 17.647 with a share of 13.5%, down 1.8 points from 2012. Volkswagen held 3 models in the top 20, with the Golf back as bestselling model.

Toyota fell in second hit by shortage in Hybrid vehicles really “on demand” in the greenest market in the World. October sales were 1.454 with a share of 12.0%, down 2.7 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 17.003 with a share of 13.0%, up 0.4 points from 2012. Depending of supply availability, Toyota in December could again keep leadership to Volkswagen.

Volvo in third sold 1.053 vehicles with a share of 8.7%, down 0.2 points of share from October. Year-to-date sales were 9.979 with a share of 7.6%, down 0.8 points from 2012. Volvo held 3 models in the top 20, with the V70 in 7th position.

Skoda advanced in fourth place, up 2 spots, with 789 sales and 6.5% of share, up 0.5 points from October. Year to date Skoda was 8th with 6.162 units and 4.7% of share, down 0.4 points from last year.

Ford was fifth selling 733 units with a share of 6.1%, down 0.6 points from the previous month. Year-to-date Ford was fourth with 9.241 sales and 7.1% of share, down 1.1 points from 2012. The top model was Focus in 13th position.

Tesla advanced in 8th place, from 22nd, with the Model S in second place.

Volkswagen Golf was back the bestselling model with 666 sales and 5.5% of share, up 0.5 points from October. Year to date sales were 6.905 with 5.2% of share.

Tesla Model S was second from 35th with 527 units and 4.4% of share. Tesla performance is heavy influenced by arrival of products ordered as dealers’ orders in portfolio are still strong.

Toyota Auris was third 525 registrations and 4.3% of share, down 1.0 points from October. Year to date Auris was second with 4.507 sales and 3.4% of share.

Skoda Octavia was 4th with 524 units and a share of 4.3%, followed by Nissan Leaf, the former leader, in 5th with 512 sales and a share of 4.2%.

Toyota Yaris and Volkswagen Up were 6th with 383 sales followed by Volvo V70, Volvo V40, Toyota Rav 4 and Mazda CX-5.
