Norway: In August 2013 Nissan advanced in 4th place in a stable market.

Accordingly with data released by Opplysningsrådet for Veitrafikken AS, in August 203 new cars sold in Norway were 11.660, down 1.1%, the fourth moth in a row. Year-to-date sales were still positive at 93.608, 0.6% from last year.

Nissan Leaf advanced in 4th place, the best ever achieved worldwide, with a share of 3.8%.

Looking at the top brands performance:

Toyota reconquered the 1st position but with a negative month, selling 1.666 vehicles with a share of 14.3%, down 0.1 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date August sales were 12.111 with a share of 12.9%. Toyota held 2 models in the top 15, with the Auris in 3rd position.

Volkswagen was 2nd, selling 1.551 units with a share of 13.3%, down 0.3 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 12.850 with a share of 13.7%. Volkswagen held 3 models in the top 15, with the Golf as market leader.

Ford was 3rd, up 1 spot from July, selling 897 units with a share of 7.7%, up 0.4 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.271 with a share of 5.6%. Ford held 2 models in the top 15, with the Focus in 9th position.

Nissan advanced in 4th, up 2 spots from July, selling 725 vehicles with a share of 6.2%, up 0.5 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.271 with a share of 5.6%. The top model was the Leaf in 4th position.

Audi was 5th, selling 645 units with a share of 5.5%, down 0.6 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.323 with a share of 5.7%. The best-selling model was the Audi A3 in 12th position.

Looking at single model performance, Volkswagen Golf was the market leader with 514 units and a share of 4.4%, down 0.8 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.032 with a share of 5.3%.

Mazda CX-5 was 2nd with 506 units and a share of 4.3%, down 0.1 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Auris in 3rd, up 5 spots from July, with 459 sales and a share of 3.9%, up 1.6 points from the previous month.

Nissan Leaf was 4th, up 3 spots, with 448 units and a share of 3.8%, up 1.4 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Yaris in 5th, down 2 spots, with 426 sales and a share of 3.7%, down 0.2 points from the previous month, and by Toyota RAV4 in 6th, down 2 spots, with 368 sales and a share of 3.2%, down 0.5 points from the previous month.
