Peru car market hits all-time record in 2013 scoring the fourth annual volume record in a row, despite sales speed decelerated in the second half and 2014 outlook is less favorable than in the past. See all market statistics.

Peruvian car market has been one of the fastest growing in the last decade as sales where only 14.337 ten years ago (2004) and accordingly with data released by A.R.A.P.E.R., the Association de Representantes  Automotrices de Peru, the new Light Passengers Vehicles sold have been 177.524, up only 7.3% from the previous year.

At the end of 2013, Peruvian market was the World’s 42nd and the 5th in South America.

The top seventh brands have unchanged their ranking, with Toyota market leader with 38.045 sales and 21.6% of market share, up1.7 points from the previous year. Yaris and Hilux were the best-selling vehicles in the market with a combined share of 14%.

Hyundai in second sold 26.994 cars with 15.3% of market share, gaining 0.6 points from 2012. The best model was the Accent ranked in 7th place with 5.121 sales.

Kia was third selling 21.873 units and 12.4 of share, up 1.7 from the previous year, with the top model Picanto in fifth with 6.060 sales and the Rio in sixth place with 5.592 retails.

Chevrolet was fourth with 19.025 sales and 10.8% of share up 0.3 points from the previous year. The bestselling model was the Sail in fourth with 6.072.

Nissan in fifth sold 12.250 with 6.9% of share, down 2.6 points from 2012, followed by Suzuki with 9.185 sales and Volkswagen with 6.620.
