Philippines 2013. Market at new All Time Record

Accordingly with data reported by AVID and CAMPI (the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines), in December 2013 the light passenger vehicles sold in the Philippines have been 20.420, up 17.6% from last. Full Year sales were 211.540 up 23.5% from 2012 and second all-time record volume in a row.

Looking at the best brand performance:

Toyota in first place sold 6.943 vehicles with a share back at “normal” level, that here means 34.0%, down from the sky touched in November at 40.6%. In the year, Toyota retailed 75.161 vehicles, new all-time record volume with a share at 35.7%, outstanding although down 1.5 points from 2012.

Mitsubishi in second was back above 20% of market share selling 4.322 vehicles, with share at 21.2%, up 1.4 points from November. Full Year sales were 43.176 with a share of 20.5%, up 2.0 points from last year.

Hyundai in third place sold 2.416 cars with a share of 11.8%, up 2.4 points of share from the previous month. Full Year sales were 22.033 with a share of 10.5%, down 0.4 points from 2012.

Honda advanced in fourth, up 3 spots, with 1.234 sales and a share of 6.0%, up 2.4 points from the previous month. Full Year sales were 13.356 with a share of 6.3%, up 0.8 points from 2012.

Ford was the first non-Japanese ranking in fifth with 1.223 retails and share at 6.0%, down 0.5 points from the previous month. Full Year sales were 13.286 with share at 6.3%, up 0.8 points from 2012.

Isuzu in sixth sold 1.044 units with 5.1% of share, down 0.4 points from November. Full Year sales were 11.793 with 5.6% of share, down 0.4 points from last year.

Nissan ranked 7th with 700 retails and 3.4% of share, down 0.4 points from November. Full Year sales were 7.893 with share at 3.7%, down 0.1 points from last year.

Chevrolet ranked 8th with 5.066 retails and share at 3.1%, up 0.6 points from the previous month. Full Year Chevrolet was 9th with 5.066 sales and 2.4% of share, up 0.4 points from 2012.
