2014 Portugal Vehicles Market rebounded with Renault, Volkswagen and Peugeot ending the race on the podium. Model ranking was leaded by Renault Clio, VW Golf and Nissan Qashqai. See details here.

In December 2014 according to data released by A.C.A.P., the Portuguese Association of Car Producers, total new Passengers Cars sold in Portugal have been 11.905, up 37.9% from same period last year and achieving the 19th year on year growth in a string.

Full Year 2014 sales in Portugal have been 142.731, up 34.8%, posting the third growing year in a row with 47.000 units more than the lower level hit in the 2012.

Renault sold 1.399 cars in December (+20.4%) ending the year again on top of the list, with 16.319 sales (+32.9%) and 11.4% of market share.

Albeit arriving third in December, Volkswagen was second in the full year with 13.870 sales (+67.0%) with the third, Peugeot, that has reduced the gap posting a wonderful +81.8% increase in December (+40% in the year).

Almost all brand reported strong December sales. The losers had been Opel (8th with 629 sales, -1.7%), Smart (17th with 172 sales, -6.5%), Hyundai (23rd with 71 sales, -9.0%) and Land Rover (26th with 38 sales, -15.6%).

Looking at the report on Car Groups, the leader was Volkswagen Group with 20.7% of market share, ahead of Renault-Nissan with 20.3% and P.S.A. with 15.5%.

As far as model ranking report, Renault Clio won the year end rush with 725 December sales and 7.702 in the year, followed by Volkswagen Golf with 554 units and by Nissan Qashqai with 424 units.
