Qatar: Hyundai shines in the strong July Car Market.

Following the robust increase posted in the first half of the year, in July 2013 the Qatari light passenger vehicles figures were up again with 7.902 vehicles sold, 16.5% better than July 2012.

Year to date sales were 54.562, up 10.1%

Looking at the best brands performance:

Toyota’s performance had no clouds and the Japanese leader kept maximizing the advantage of being leader ins a booming market. This month sales were 2.220 with a share of 31.0%, down 1.8 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 17.494 with a share of 32.5%, down 0.4 points from full year 2012. The Qatari market podium was dominated by three Toyota’s.

Nissan was 2nd selling 1.180 units with a share of 16.5%, up 2.0 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 7.915 with a share of 14.8%, down 2.9 points from last year. Nissan top model was again the Patrol ranked 6th.

Hyundai in 3rd sold 733 vehicles with a share of 10.2%, up 2.3 points from first half. Year-to-date sales were 4.421 with a share of 8.2%, down 1.9 points from FY 2012. The top model was the Elantra ranked 7th.

Ford in 4th position sold 324 vehicles with a share of 4.5%, up 0.4 points from first half. Year-to-date sales were 2.255 with a share of 4.2%, up 1.0 points from last year. The top model was the Expedition in 20th place.

GMC was 5th selling 312 units with a share of 4.4%, up 0.8 points from first half. Year-to-date sales were 1.979 with a share of 3.7%, down 0.5 points from last year. The Sierra was the top model ranking 19th.

Lexus was 6th selling 245 vehicles with a share of 3.4%, up 0.1 points from first half. Year-to-date Lexus was 9th with 1.786 sales and 3.3% of share, up 0.2 points from last year. The top model LX ranked 4th.

Honda was 7th selling 218 vehicles with a share of 3.0%, down 0.6 points from first half. Year-to-date sales were 1.876 with a share of 3.5%, up 1.2 points from last year. The bestselling model was the City ranked 20th.

Chevrolet was 8th selling 214 units with a share of 3.0%, down 0.4 points from first half. Year-to-date sales were 1.777 with a share of 3.3%, down 1.0 points from last year.

Toyota Land Cruiser was stable on top of the list with 631 units and a share of 8.0%, up 0.5 from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 4.767 with a share of 8.7%.

Toyota Hilux was 2ndwith 602 units and a share flat at 7.6%. Year to date sales were 3.981 with 7.3% of share.

Toyota Prado was 3rd with 410 units and a share of 5.2%, up 0.2 points from June. Year to date sales were 2.346 with a share of 4.3%.

Lexus LX was 4th with 209 units and a share of 2.6%, up 0.6 points from the previous month, followed by Nissan Patrol in 5th with 206 sales and a share of 2.6% down 0.2 points from the previous month, and by Hyundai Elantra in 6th, up 8 spots, with 201 sales and a share of 2.5%, up 1.1 points from the previous month.

Hyundai Tucson was 7th with 192 units and a share of 2.4%, up 0.7 points from June, followed by Toyota Corolla in 8th with 185 sales.

Behind, Toyota Camry with 179 sales and Mitsubishi Lancer EX in 10th with 162 pieces.
