Romania: In June 2013 Dacia sales collapsed. Top 25 Brands & Models ranking reported.

Following the huge drop posted in May, Romanian car market was again losing around the half of 2012 volume as June 2013 sales were only 3.967 units, down 45.9%. First half 2013 figures were 24.549, down 26.4% from last year. Full year 2013 is projected at 52.000 units, representing the 6th consecutive yearly decline, since 2007, when the market achieved a record sales of 315.621 units.

Looking at top brands performance:

Dacia in 1st posted an awful month with 895 sales and a share of 22.6%, down 5.0% points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 6.440 with a share of 26.2%. Dacia held 5 models in the top 25, with the Logan as market leader.

Volkswagen was 2nd selling 554 vehicles with a share of 14.0%, up 3.2 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 2.832 with a share of 11.5%. Volkswagen held 5 models in the top 25, with the Golf in 4th position.

Skoda climbed to the 3rd position, selling 362 units with a share of 9.1%, up 3.0 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 2.085 with a share of 8.5%. Skoda held 2 models in the top 25, with the Octavia in 2nd position.

Hyundai jumped to the 4th position (6th year-to-date) selling 263 vehicles with a share of 6.6%, up 1.8 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 1.311 with a share of 5.3%. The top model was the Elantra in 12th position.

Renault was 5th (4th year-to-date) selling 234 units with a share of 5.9%, up 0.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 1.483 with a share of 6.0%. The best-selling model was the Megane in 16th position.

Looking at the top selling models, Dacia Logan was the market leader with 490 units and a share of 12.4%, down 2.2 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 3.532 with a share of 14.4%.

Skoda Octavia was 2nd, up 8 spots from May, with 207 units and a share of 5.2%, up 3.0 points from the previous month, followed by Dacia Duster in 3rd with 201 sales and a share of 5.1%, down 1.4 points from the previous month.

Volkswagen Golf was 4th with 179 units and a share of 4.5%, up 1.7 points from the previous month, followed by Volkswagen Passat in 5th, up 12 spots, with 109 sales and a share of 2.7%m up 1.3 points from the previous month, and by Opel Astra in 6th with 97 sales and a share of 2.4%, stable.

Toyota Auris was 7th, up 29 spots from May, with 97 units and a share of 2.2%, up 1.7 points from the previous month, followed by Dacia Sandero in 8th, down 5 spots, with 85 sales and a share of 2.1%, down 0.8 points from the previous month.
