Russia car market flat in November 2012.

The November sales were 240.322, up 0.3% and the year-to-date sales were 2.676.099, up 11.8%. It seems that the market rush is over and in the next months a year-on-year decline is realistic, in spite of local forecast are still in favor of 10% increase trend.

The Renault-Nissan Group and the Russian Technologies corp. signed a joint venture to control the 74.5% of Autovaz by first half 2014. Thanks to this agreement, Renault-Nissan will control the majority of Autovaz. Actually the 25% of shares are owned by Renault/Nissan. Thanks to this agreement, the Russian market leader will be supported in the plan to improve the quality and the product line up, while Renault Nissan will gain the control of one of fastest growing market worldwide.

Volkswagen Group started the CKD production of Skoda Yeti automobiles in the facilities belonging to GAZ in Nizhni-Novgorod. The plan is to produce 13.000 Yeti in the next year and to start the production of Volkswagen Jetta and Skoda Octavia. Volkswagen announced to plan reaching an annual production of 225.000 units, the double of current year local production, by 2016.

Looking at the best brand performance in November:

Autovaz confirmed the market leader, selling 45.107 with a share of 18.8%, down 0.9 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date November sales were 444.249 with a share of 18.3%. Autovaz held 4 models in the top 10: the new Granta, 1st, the Priora, 2nd, the Samara 4th and the Kalina 8th .

Renault continued growing, obtaining the 2nd position (4th year-to-date), with 17.177 units and a share of 7.1%, up 0.4 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 155.707 with a share of 6.4%. The Duster was 7th this month while the Sandero was 14th.

Chevrolet was 3rd (2nd year-to-date) with 16.509 sales and a share of 6.9%, down 0.5 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 170.503 with a share of 7.0%. The best-selling model was the Cruze 9th this month.

Hyundai climbed to the 4th position (6th year-to-date) with 16.015 sales and a share of 6.7%, up 0.9 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 148.104 with a share of 6.1%. The best-selling model was the Hyundai Solaris, 3rd this month.

Kia was 5th (3rd year-to-date), with 15.059 units and a share of 6.3%, down 0.3 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 155.736 with a share of 6.4%. This month the Kia Rio was 6th.

Volkswagen in 6th (5th year-to-date) sold 14.149 units with a share of 5.9%, down 0.2 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 149.233 with a share of 6.2%. The best-selling model was the Polo, 9th this month.

Ford was 7th (9th year-to-date) with 11.131 units and a share of 4.6%, up 0.8 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 107.009 with a share of 4.4. The Ford Focus was 5th this month.

Nissan was 8th (7th year-to-date) with 10.739 units, only 21 units more than Toyota, and a share of 4.5%, down 0.1 points from October. Year-to-date sales were 129.669 with a share of 5.4%. The Qashqai was 19th this month.

Toyota in 9th sold 10.718 units with a share of 4.5%, down 0.1 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 128.505 with a share of 5.3%.

Skoda was 10th, selling 9.012 units for a share of 3.7%, up 0.5 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 80.820 with a share of 3.3%.

Looking at the best-selling models performance, the new Lada Granta was again the market leader (3rd year-to-date), with 12.836 sales and a share of 5.3%, down 0.3 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 107.998 with a share of 4.5%.

The Lada Priora was 2nd, selling 10.160 units, with a share of 4.2%, down 0.1 points from October, followed by the Hyundai Solaris in 3rd (4th last month and YTD) with 9.272 units and a share of 3.9%.

The Lada Samara was 4th (14th last month and 8th year-to-date) with 7.399 units and a share of 3.1%, up 1.4 points from October, followed in 5th by the Ford Focus with 7.325 units and a share of 3.0%.

The Kia Rio was 6th with 6.817 units and a share of 2.8%, down 0.4 points from October, followed by the Renault Duster in 7th (17th year-to-date) with 6.755 sales and a share of 2.8%, up 0.2 points.

The Lada Kalina dropped to the 8th position (3rd last month and 1st YTD) selling 6.726 units for a share of 2.8%, down 1.4 points from October, followed by the Volkswagen Polo in 9th (7th YTD) with 5.927 sales and a share of 2.5%.

Behind it wasn’t a good month for the Lada 4X4 in 15th (10th last month and 12th YTD) that sold 4.059 units with a share of 1.7%, while Lada Largus in 18th (22th last month and 30th YTD) posted a good month, selling 2.790 units for a share of 1.2%.
