Russia: 2012 Car Market hit new all-time Record.

In December 2012 the market was flat as in the previous month, posting 253.158 sales, up 0.7%, with the Full Year sales at 2.929.000, up 10.7%. The last was the 33rd consecutive growing month.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Autovaz ended the year posting in December 43.354 sales and a declining share at 17.1%, down 1.7 points of share from the previous month and 2.1 points from Q3. Full Year sales were 487.603 with a share of 18.2%. The gap with the competitors remained wide in spite of this was the first year ever below 20% of share. The Autovaz Granta was the market leader.

Renault was again 2nd with 17.242 units and a share of 6.8%, down 0.3 points of share from the previous month. Full Year it was 3rd, outpacing Kia just on the rush. Sales were 186.318, the all-time record, with a share of 6.5%. Sandero was the top model in the full year, while the new Duster is the emerging, grew in 5th place last month.

Chevrolet was 3rd with 15.815 sales and a share of 6.2%, down 0.7 points of share from the previous month. Full Year it was 2nd with 186.318 units and a share of 7.0%. The best-selling model was the Cruze 11th this month and 9th in full year.

Volkswagen in December jumped in 4th place, up 2 spots, with 14.784 units and a share of 5.8%, down 0.1 points from the previous month. Full Year it was 5th with 164.017 and a share of 6.1%. The best-selling model was the Polo in 12th.

Kia was 5th with 14.752 units and a share of 5.8%, down 0.5 points from the previous month. Full Year it was 4th with170.488 sales and a share of 6.4%. The top model was the Rio in 7th place.

Ford was 6th with 14.162 units and a share soared at 5.6%, up 1.0 points from the previous month and 1.4 points from Q3. Full Year it was 9th with 121.171 sales and a share of 4.5%. The top model was the Focus, raised in 3rd place.

Hyundai dropped in 7th place, down 3 spots, with 12.845 sales and a share of 5.1%, down 1.6 points from the previous month and 0.4 points from Q3. Full Year it was 6th with 160.949 sales and 6.0% of share. The top model was the Solaris in 4th, after losing 1.1 points of share in the last month.

Toyota was 8th with 12.755 sales and 5.0% of share, up 0.5 points from the previous month. Full Year sales were 141.260 with a share of 5.3%. The best model was the Camry in 19st.

Nissan was 9th selling 11.677 vehicles with a share of 4.6%, up 0.1 points from the previous month. Full Year it was 7th with 160.949 units and a share of 5.3%. The top model was the Qashqai in 23rd.

Skoda was 10th with 9.990 sales and 3.9% of share. Full Year sales were 90.810 with a share of 3.4%. The Top model was the Octavia, 13th in the last month and 15th in full year.

Looking at the top models, Lada Granta was stable on top of the list, with 13.153 sales and a share of 5.2%, down 0.1 points of share from the previous month. Full Year it was 2nd with 121.151 sales and 4.5% of share.

The Lada Priora, leader in the full year, in December was stable in2nd, selling 10.429 units, with a share of 4.1%, down 0.1 points from the previous month.

The Ford Focus surged on the podium last month, with 9.831 units and a share of 3.9%, up 0.9 points of share from the previous.

The Hyundai Solaris was 4th with 7.196 units and a share dropped at 2.8%, down 1.1 points. The Renault Duster soared in 5th place with 6.659 units and 2.6% of share, followed by the Kalina at 2.4% and Kia Rio at 2.1%.

Chevrolet Niva was 8th with 5.381 sales and 2.1% of share ahead of the Lada Samara, dropped in 9th from the 4th, with 5.239 units and a share of 2.1%, down 1.0 points.

The Daewoo Nexia closed the Top 10 at 2.1% of share.
