Slovakia Vehicles Market kept booming in the 2017, when for the first time hit the 100.000 units, up 8% at the fourth all time record in a string. The country is now a manufacturing hub for the sector with benefit for the domestic market. Skoda dominates.
Slovakian economy seems to have maintained a healthy pace of growth in the last stretch of 2017, underpinned by robust demand from the EU. Merchandise exports recorded another robust year-on-year expansion in November. Healthy external demand buttressed growth in industrial production, which accelerated further in November mainly on the back of a remarkable performance in the automotive sector.
Slovakian vehicles market in recent years has been one of the most dynamic in Europe, while the country become a manufacturing hub for the entire continent. Domestic new vehicles sales scored an impressive series of all time record, starting from the 2014. According to data released by the Slovakia Associations of Car Manufacturers, in the 2017 car passenger’s sales have been 104.279, up 8.1%.

The competitive landscape – considering just the car passenger’s – was dominated by Skoda with 18.907 sales (7.8%) and 19.6% of market share.
In second place Volkswagen with 9.066 units (+13.2%), Hyundai with 7.217 (+7.6%), Kia with 6.857 (+7.4%), Peugeot with 5.124 (+8.1%), Opel 4.921 (+0.0%), Suzuki with 4.825 (+20.0%) and Dacia with 4.433 (+12.9%).
The best-selling model was the Skoda Octavia with 5.340 units (+7.8%) ahead of Skoda Fabia with 5.308 (-1.2%) and Skoda Rapid with 3.877 (-0.5%).
