Slovenia: September 2013 Car Market boomed up 24%. Renault shines.

Accordingly with data released by Sekcija Za Osebna Motorna Vozila, the local Association of Car Manufacturers, in September the car passenger’s market posted the 7th year-on-year increase in a row with 3.990 registrations, up 24.6% from last year. Year-to-date sales were 40.429, up 4.4%.

Giving a deeper look at the best brands performance:

Renault posted a robust performance with 781 sales and 19.6% of share, up 1.6 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 6.377 with a share of 15.8%, up 0.6 points from last year. New products are helping the domestic player on increasing the gap over competitors. Renault held 5 models in the top 25, with the Clio as market leader. Four models in Top ten, including Clio as leader and new Captur in 9th.

Volkswagen was able to defend its share in spite of Renault pressure, selling 568 vehicles with a share of 14.2%, up 0.2 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 5.806 with a share of 14.4%, up 0.5 points from last year. Golf and Polo ranked respectively 5th and 6th.

Peugeot advanced in third with294 sales and 7.4% of share, up 1.8 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 2.875 with a share of 7.1%, down 0.7 points from last year. The top model was the 208 in 11th position.

Skoda was 4th selling 272 units with the share flat at 6.8%. Year-to-date sales were 2.635 with a share of 6.5%, up 0.2 points from 2012. The best-selling model was the Octavia in 6th position.

Ford advanced in 5th place, up 2 spots, with 237 units and 5.9% of share, up 0.9 points. Year to date Ford was 8th with 2.119 sales and 5.2% of share.

Renault Clio was again market leader with 250 sales and a share of 7.8%, up 0.4 points from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 3.097, with a share of 7.9%.

Kia Cee’d kept the second place with 233 units and a share of 7.3%, up 0.4 points from the previous month. Year to date Cee’d was 4th with 1.714 sales and 4.4% of share.

Renault Scenic was 3rd again with 171 sales and a share of 5.3%, up 0.2 points from the previous month. Year to date Scenic was 6th with 1.199 sales and 3.0% of share.

Volkswagen Golf was 4th with 137 sales and a share of 4.3%, up 0.2 points from the previous month, followed by Volkswagen Polo in 5th with 124 sales and a share of 3.9%, up 0.2 points from the previous month, and by Skoda Octavia in 6th with 106 sales and a share of 3.3%.
