Slovenia Cars Market rose in double-digit in Q1 2015

Slovenia Cars Market

Slovenia Cars Market rose in double-digit in Q1 2015 pushed up by the strong rivalry between Volkswagen and Renault. Nissan Juke jumped in the third place, the best worldwide.

Country Outlook

Slovenia’s economy expanded at the fastest pace since 2008 last year and is expected to maintain healthy, albeit weaker, growth in 2015. The likely slowdown will be driven by government spending cuts that are necessary to reduce the public deficit.

The latest economic data confirmed that Slovenia’s economic outlook is positive: industrial production showed solid growth for a second consecutive month in February.

Market Outlook

In March 2015 according to data released by Sekcija Za Osebna Motorna Vozila, the local Association of Car Manufacturers, new Car Passengers sold in Slovenia have been 5.958, up 16.7% compared with the correspondent month last year, posting the 7th year on year increase in a row.

Following the string of three consecutive growing years, in 2015 the market is expected to further recovery towards the record volume hit in the 2008. The first quarter was really positive with a double-digit up with 16.193 sales, 11.1% more then the Q1 2014. The full year is forecast at 58.000 units.

Competitive Arena

Market leader was again Volkswagen with Q1 registrations at 2.481 units (+22.7%) and market share at 15.9%. However, Renault in second is very aggressive and reduced the gap selling 2.325 units (+18.4%) with share at 14.9%. In third place Skoda with 1.301 (+17.8%), followed by Nissan, booming at 1.160 (+103.2%).

Anyhow, Nissan was not the best performed of the quarter, because of Dacia, 6th with 919 units, +105.1% and Suzuki (19th with 171 units, +116.5%).

As far as the car groups performance and ranking, the Q1 leader was the Volkswagen Group with 29.2% of market share, followed by Renault-Nissan at 28.1% and P.S.A. with 9.0%.

As far as the best-selling models ranking, there is a great battle for the leadership between the Renault Clio, first actually with 1.130 sales in the quarter (+31.2%) and the Volkswagen Golf, second actually with 1.064 (+55.8%). A new model was on the third step of podium, the Nissan Juke, with 816 units (+164.9%) at the best place worldwide.
