South Africa best selling cars 2016 dominated by the Volkswagen Polo with a wide gap over two archrival, the Toyota Hilux and the Ford Ranger fighting for the second place.
According to the statement released by the NAAMSA, the Federation of South African Car Manufacturers, the 2016 domestic vehicles sales suffered the bad economic environment during all the 2016.
As far as concern the best-selling models, the market leader, the Volkswagen Polo (both sedan and hatchback versions), was again on top of the list with 52.561 sales (-7.5%).
In second place the best pick up, the Toyota Hilux with 35.428 units (-0.7%) just ahead of the traditional rival, the other pick up, the Ford Ranger with 32.468 sales (-4.3%).
Fourth was the Toyota Corolla (all versions) with 17.499 units (-29.7%) followed by the Toyota Quantum, up 6 spots, with 15.005 sales (+26.2%) and the Toyota Etios with 12.768 (-21.5%).
Nissan NP200 was seventh with 12.616 (-29.9%) ahead of the Isuzu KB with 12.421 (-29.9%), the Chevrolet Utility with 12.252 (-25.0%) and in 10th place the Ford Fiesta, up 3 places, with 12.204 sales (+16.7%).
