Sweden car market statistics. Best-selling 25 Brands & Models.

According to data released by BIL Sweden, the local Association of Car Manufacturers, in November 2013 the Swedish car market had broken the series the positive string, losing 1.3% of sales compared with year ago with 24.738 sales. Year to date sales were 243.135, down 3.8% from last year.

Light Commercial vehicles sold in November were 3.184, down 6.7%, while year to date figures were 33.478, down 6.9%.

French makers, Renault and Peugeot, not included among top sellers in Sweden, in November posted a great performance gaining share and position, while Ford suffered losing almost the half of market share.

Looking at the best brands performance:

Volvo, although penalized by XC60 sales drop, improved share towards recent months at 20.7%, up 0.3, with 5.128 sales. Year-to-date sales were 47.068 with a share of 19.4%, up 0.5 points from full year 2012. V70 and V60 were on top of model list.

Volkswagen in second sold 3.857 vehicles with a share of 15.6%, up 0.8 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 35.167 with a share of 14.5%, up 0.4 points from last year. Volkswagen Golf and Passat are the only models able to fight against domestic models, ranking respectively third and fourth.

Audi recovered the October shortfall and was back in third place with 1.666 sales and 6.7% of share, up 1.1 points from October. Year to date Audi was fourth with 15.353 sales and 6.3% of share, up 0.2 points from last year. The best-selling model was the A4 ranked in 10th.

Toyota was fourth with 1.604 sales and 6.5% of share, down 1.9 points from tremendous October. Year-to-date Toyota was third with 15.607 sales and 6.4% of share, up 0.5 points from last year. New Auris ranked 8th last month.

BMW was fifth selling 1.331 units with a share of 5.4%, down 0.5 points of share from the previous month. Year-to-date sales were 14.976 with a share of 6.2%, up 0.5 from 2012. The best-selling model was the Series 3 ranked 12th.

Volvo V70 further improved market share, now at 8.2% up 0.3 points from October, with 2.018 sales. Year-to-date sales were 17.545 with a share of 7.2%, down 0.6 points from full year 2012.

Volvo S/V60 advanced in second with 1.401 sales and a share of 5.7%, up 0.8 points from the previous month. Year to date it was third with 12.387 sales and 5.1% of share.

Volkswagen Golf was third with 1.398 sales and a share of 5.7%, down 0.3 points from the previous month. Year to date it was fourth with 10.329 sales and 4.2% of share.

Volkswagen Passat was 4th with 1.159 units and share at 4.7%, up 0.4, followed by Volvo V40 in 5th, up 2 spots, with 848 sales and a share of 3.4%, up 0.3 points from October, and by Volvo XC60 in 6th with 734 sales and a share of 3.0%, down 1.1 points from the previous month.

Kia Cee’d was 7th with 571 units and a share of 2.3%, down 0.4 points from the previous month, followed by Toyota Auris in 8th, down 2 spots, with 517 sales and a share of 2.1%.

Audi A4 was the Model of the Month, soaring in 9th from 19th doubling share at 2.1%, followed by Renault Megane, in 10th from 24th with 1.9% of share.
