Tunisia Auto Market in First Half 2016

Tunisia Auto Market in first half 2016 increased sharply. Isuzu joined the podium, while Kia fell down in 5th place. The Isuzu D-Max and the Volkswagen Golf were the star of the period.

Market Outlook

Complementing the USD 5.0 billion in lending from the World Bank that was announced in February, Tunisia is set to receive even more international funds in the form of an IMF Extended Fund Facility (EFF). Although international funds will help stabilize the country in the short term, long term stability is contingent on the successful enactment of reforms.

For the Tunisian vehicles market, the first half 2016 was a vigorous period. In fact in June was recorded the second best increase year to date after February, and the scenario was dominated by sharp double figures.

According to the data release by the local Association of Car Distributors, the second quarter kept the momentum keeping a fast pace ending the period with 35.719 sales, up 19.3%.
