Turkish market report. November 2016

Turkish Cars Sales in November 2016 renault-megane-2016

Turkish Cars Sales in November scored the best increase year to date, despite the economy activity damaged by political uncertainty. Toyota was 5th sustained by the new leader Corolla sedan.

Market Outlook

Heightened political uncertainty has the potential to further harm economic activity in the final quarter of the year. Tensions between Turkey and the EU intensified earlier this month after the European Parliament voted to freeze Turkey’s accession talks. This prompted President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to threaten to end a landmark deal over the flow of migrants to Europe.

Meantime, the new cars market in November was riding high, hitting the best increase of the year with a stunning performance.

Indeed according to data reported by the O.D.D., Otomotiv Distribütörleri Derneği (The Car Distributors Association in Turkey), in November the light vehicles sales had been 122.309, up 44.6%.

Year to date November sales had been 837.253, up 3.1%.
