UK market report. October 2016

UK Cars October Sales

UK Cars October Sales steady up, albeit uncertainty stemming from the Brexit and a weak pound. Audi ranked third jumping up 3 spots pushed by strong demand on A3.

Market Outlook

Growth continues to hold up well in the UK and the latest survey data show a further improvement in the manufacturing sector, with the PMI increasing in September. Moreover, consumer confidence recovered in the same month after the post-referendum downturn. Escalating concerns of a severe separation from the EU caused the pound to hit a historic low on 11 October.

As far as the cars industry, in October the improves were still poor and hit the 4th positive month in a row. There are no signs of any effect due to the BREXIT and eventually this event will be in place in the 2019.

In fact, according to figures released by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (S.M.M.T.) in October the car passenger’s sold had been 180.168, up 1.4%.

Year to date October sales had been 2.330.663, up 2.5%.
