World Best Selling Coupe in the 2018 has been again the Ford Mustang with a wide gap over two Dodge models, the Charger and the Challenger. The segment contracted 4.6% confirming the last years’ trend. FCA group is the leader among manufacturers.

Global Coupe sales by Brand
Dodge with 161.845 (-5.4%) was the 2018 global leader within the Coupe segment followed by Ford with 112.745 (-10.1%).
In third place Chevrolet with 79.112 sales (-24.1%) ahead of Tesla – up 21.1% – with 60.261 units and Porsche with 58.982 improving by 9.4%.

Global Coupe sales by Manufacturer
The global leader in the Coupe segment was F.C.A. with 181.111 sales in 2018 (-6.9%), ahead of Ford Group with 112.746 (-10.1%).
In third place Volkswagen Group with 100.188 units sold (+9%) followed by General Motors with 83.476 (-24.2%) and Tesla with 60.261 (+21.1%).

Best Selling Models
The 2018 best-selling model globally was the Ford Mustang with 112.601 sales (-10.2%). Manufacturer since the 1965, it is the most iconic vehicles produced by Ford, having created the “pony car” class of American muscle cars, affordable sporty coupe with long hoods and short rear decks. The 5th current generation, launched in the 2014 is distributed in over 135 countries.
In second place, the Dodge Charger with 91.456 sales (-9%). Introduced in US market in the 1966, this model has been developed across seven generation , the last introduced in the 2011. In third place, the Dodge Challenger with 70.352 units sold (+0.8%).
In fourth place, the Tesla Model XÂ with 60261 units sold, surging to 21.1%.
In fifth place, the Chevrolet Camaro with 57.870 units (-23.7%). It went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. Production was disconnected in the 2002 when end-life was announced. However, in the 2009 Chevrolet launched back the fifth generation, replaced in the 2016 by the sixth current version.
