World Best Selling Coupe in 2020 final data is the Ford Mustang with an impressive 12.6% market share. The Geely Xingue Star performs impressively and enters the leaderboard.
In 2020, the best-selling coupe is by far the Ford Mustang with 85.085 sales (12.6% market share). Manufactured since 1965, it is the most iconic vehicles produced by Ford, having created the “pony car” class of American muscle cars, affordable sporty coupe with long hoods and short rear decks. The 5th current generation, launched in 2014 is distributed in over 135 countries.
In second place we have the Dodge Charger, with 83.720 sales and 12.4% market share. Introduced in the US market in 1966, this model has been developed across seven generations, the last introduced in 2011.
In third place, the Dodge Challenger with 57.039 sales (8.5% share), followed by the Chevrolet Camaro with 32.927 units sold. The Camaro went on sale on September 29, 1966, for the 1967 model year and was designed as a competing model to the Ford Mustang. Production was disconnected in 2002 when the end-life was announced. However, in the 2009 Chevrolet launched back the fifth generation, replaced in 2016 by the sixth current version.
In 5th place, climbing 2 spots we have the Porche 911 with 30.268 units sold (4.5% share), followed by the Geely Xingyue Star with 25.345 units (3.8% share), ahead of the Chevrolet Corvette -up 6 spots- and the Kia Stinger with respectively 23.995 and 22.311 units sold.
Finally, in ninth place we have the Mazda MX-5 -down 3 spots- with 21.290 units sold and the Volkswagen Arteon -down 1 spot- with 21.067 units.
